Hydrating Foods for the Summer


It is important that we keep ourselves hydrated this summer. Don’t forget to drink eight glasses of water or more, but remember you can also incorporate water-packed foods in your diet that will make sure you remain hydrated and healthy.


Cucumbers. Cucumbers are the perfect way to stay hydrated this summer. They contain 95% water, and are an excellent source of folate, potassium, and vitamins A and C. A great way to mix them in your diet is by tossing them in a smoothie or juice.


Yoghurt. When you become dehydrated, your body loses electrolytes in addition to water. Yogurt contains over 98% water and has potassium and sodium that will help replace the lost electrolytes.


Berries. Raspberries, strawberries, and blueberries are all great fruits to incorporate in your diet this summer. They’re sweet enough you can eat them for dessert, but are also rich in antioxidants. If you want to mix things up a bit, try mixing the berries with yoghurt or whip up an acai bowl for yourself. The delicious combination will help you beat the summer heat.


Tomatoes. Tomatoes are composed of about 95 percent water. We recommend tossing tomatoes in any salad or even in your sandwiches.


Popsicles. Make your own healthy popsicles at home this summer. Popsicles made with water and some fruit are the perfect to-go summer dessert.
